How did we get so fat, so fast? This is the debut episode of a 7-part series attempting to debunk the theory that obesity only affects the "gluttons and sloths" among us and is, in fact, a public health problem that impacts everyone.
I have written many posts about the effects of processed foods, deficiencies in iodine, calorie dense foods, etc. that all play into this video's message that we are all possible victims of metabolic disorders. It is not just the obese in our society suffering from these medical conditions. In fact, nearly 60% of Americans are suffering from metabolic syndrome and many of them won't be aware of it until they die from one of the associated conditions.
The irony is that while we are now living longer lives due to advances in medical care, we are living less healthy lives. And our children are the first generation in modern history that is predicted to live shorter lives than we will due to chronic health conditions effecting them in childhood. It's time to educate ourselves and make the necessary changes to allow our bodies to heal.
I will share each episode of this series as they come available. Please watch and share it with your friends and family!
